Exact duplicates
Remove only records that match the same station, call, date, time, band/frequency and mode exactly. Possible near-duplicates are never deleted automatically.
Fill missing station information
These values are only added when the corresponding MY_* or STATION_CALLSIGN field is missing. Existing QSO data is not overwritten.

Syntax & data types
The Doctor checks records, field declarations, dates, times and common ADIF value formats. When exporting, field lengths are rebuilt from the actual values.
Band, frequency & mode
A frequency can be compared with the stored band, and common mode/submode combinations are checked for obvious inconsistencies.
Duplicates
Exact duplicates are separated from merely similar QSOs. Near matches remain warnings because two real contacts can occur only seconds apart, especially in digital modes.
Wavelog-friendly station data
Missing STATION_CALLSIGN and MY_* information is shown as a recommendation, not as an ADIF error. This distinction prevents valid logs from being incorrectly labelled as broken.
Your logbook does not need to leave your computer.
Callsigns, locations and operating habits contained in a complete log can reveal a lot about a station. That is why the ADIF Doctor intentionally performs the analysis in the browser. The selected file is read locally, processed in a Web Worker and only the result is shown on this page. DA6IT.de does not receive the ADIF content through this tool.

The checks are based on the commonly used fields and enumerations from ADIF 3.1.7. A tool like this cannot decide whether every piece of operating information is factually correct, but it can catch many structural mistakes before an import into Wavelog, QRZ, LoTW or another logger becomes frustrating.
Common questions about the ADIF Doctor.
Is my ADIF file uploaded?
No. The file is read and analyzed locally in your browser. The tool has no upload step for the ADIF content.
Does a warning mean my ADIF is invalid?
No. Errors, warnings and recommendations are deliberately separated. Missing MY_GRIDSQUARE, for example, can be useful to fix for Wavelog but does not automatically make an ADIF record invalid.
Can the Doctor delete real QSOs as duplicates?
Automatic removal is limited to exact duplicate keys. Similar contacts are only highlighted so that you can review them yourself.
Is this only for Wavelog?
No. ADIF is used by many loggers and online services. The general checks are independent of Wavelog; Wavelog-related hints are explicitly labelled as recommendations.
