Test without a microphone
It should sound like radio, too.
Susi no longer comes straight out of the speaker like a clean computer voice. The browser adds the narrow SSB sound, receiver noise and, depending on the simulated signal, a little fading. Hold PTT and the receiver goes quiet; release it and you are listening again.
FM gets its own training mode.
For now the trainer deliberately concentrates on SSB. FM will follow as a separate exercise because it sounds different and the operating flow is not quite the same. I would rather build that properly than simply switch the SSB scenario to FM.
Privacy: Your microphone audio is processed on the self-hosted voice backend for speech recognition and is not kept permanently as an audio file. Susi is a synthetic AI radio partner; for her voice output only Susi’s generated reply text is sent server-to-server to Microsoft Azure Speech. Your microphone audio is not sent to Microsoft.
